Mavuno Complex

This project fully encompasses our unique model and the original vision of our founder.

The Mavuno Complex uniquely links our mission of enhancing lives through ministry and agriculture with our vision of multiplying disciples of Christ. Mavuno means “Harvest” in Swahili, a fitting name for a place that combines discipleship, outreach, and a training farm.

This center serves as the headquarters of Cultivate Global Tanzania, a gathering place for worship on Sundays, and a hub for gospel outreach. Its purpose is to train locals in innovative agricultural practices that are practical, profitable, and sustainable in their regions. At the same time, it supports the broader discipleship and outreach ministry of Cultivate Global.

We believe in a self-sustaining model that equips local people to thrive in both ministry and community development.

A farming community searching for innovative and successful practices
In Babati, I was able to see the location of Cultivate Global Tanzania’s office, and the new three acre training farm on the south end of town. The potential for the training farm is huge, with a farming community searching for innovative and successful practices. Understanding agriculture in Tanzania is difficult, because many of the current practices are hundreds of years behind that of the United States, and directly implementing American practices is not feasible. With this in mind, we spent time touring some of the most innovative and successful farming operations in and around Babati to get a picture of what successful local farmers have found to work in the region. I am excited for the future of the Babati training farm, especially when meeting with the operations board of Cultivate Global Tanzania to discuss future plans.
